Patriot tie-up
Lockheed Martin Vought Systems and DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (Dasa) have established a joint venture, to be called Air Defense Systems, to manufacture missile components, as part of the offset deal tied to Germany's purchase of the US firm's Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) system. The venture will carry out final integration, testing and logistical support for Germany's PAC-3 missiles.
Hawk engine order
Rolls-Royce has signed a £150 million ($245 million) deal with the Australian ministry of defence for Adour 871 turbofan engines for 33 Hawk Lead-in Fighter Trainer Aircraft.
