AVIC's AG600 amphibian has conducted its second sortie, less than a month after its first flight on 26 December 2017.
According to China Daily, the four-engined aircraft conducted a 73-minute flight on Wednesday 24 January, "successfully finishing all tests" planned for the mission.
The flight took place from Zhuhai airport, which lies adjacent to the China Aviation Industry General Aircraft (CAIGA) production hall where the first aircraft was built.
Its maximum take-off weight of 53.5t makes it the world's largest amphibian aircraft, even bigger than the Shinmaywa US-2 at 43t.
CAIGA says there are 17 orders for the type, all from domestic customers.
