The Airbus A319neo achieved first flight on 31 March in Toulouse, the manufacturer announces.
The maiden flight means the third and smallest version of the A320neo family is now in flight test or operational service.
CFM International Leap-1A engines powered the first A319neo's first flight. Airbus also offers the A319neo with Pratt & Whitney PW1100G geared turbofan engines.
In a rare coincidence, two commercial aircraft achieved first flights on the same day. The A319neo first flight was completed minutes after Boeing launched the maiden sortie of the 787-10.
