Azul has promoted John Rodgerson to chief executive, as founder David Neeleman steps out of the role.
Rodgerson, who has been serving as chief financial officer, was a member of the Brazilian carrier's founding team in 2008. He previously worked at JetBlue Airways with Neeleman.
"As CEO, [Rodgerson] will be responsible for maintaining our focus on being one of the most efficient airlines in the world while providing exceptional customer service founded on a strong corporate culture," states Neeleman, who will continue to chair Azul's board.
Alex Malfitani replaces Rodgerson as finance chief. Malfitani likewise joined the airline in 2008 and has been overseeing loyalty programme TudoAzul.
Meanwhile, Azul's president and administrative officer Antonoaldo Neves has left the airline to join the board of TAP Portugal.
All of the leadership changes at Azul are effective immediately.
Azul is the third-largest carrier in Brazil, with a 17% share of capacity in 2016, FlightGlobal schedules data shows.
