Embraer expects certification of the E190-E2 within 90 days, its commercial unit's chief executive has disclosed.
"At this stage, more than 80% of the certification phase is behind us," John Slattery tells FlightGlobal.
Launch operator Wideroe plans to debut the E190-E2 in revenue service on 24 April 2018, using the re-engined and re-winged jet on a domestic route between Bergen and Tromso in Norway.
Embraer has secured 285 firm orders for the E2 family, as well as 445 options.
The Brazilian manufacturer plans to deliver the E195-E2 to launch operator and compatriot Azul in the first half of 2019. The smallest variant of the family, the E175-E2, is to enter service in 2021.
