Eastar Jet has become the first South Korean carrier to take delivery of a Boeing 737 Max 8.
Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the jet, MSN 60458, is one of two that the leisure carrier is taking through VEB-Leasing, which will join its fleet of 19 737-800s.

In addition, the superior economics and longer-range capability of the 737 Max will enable us to expand our network into new and existing markets more efficiently, which will help us achieve long-term growth."
Fellow low-cost carriers T’way Air and Jeju Air have also committed to adding 737 Max jets to their fleets.
In November, Jeju Air placed a firm order for 40 737 Max 8s plus 10 options, while T’way has flagged plans to add four Max 8s to its fleet next year, and take 10 Max 10s between 2022 and 2024.
Korean Air, meanwhile, will take delivery of its first Max 8 in April.
