Singapore Airlines and Recaro announced a deal at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg for the supply of economy class seats for a large part of the carrier’s widebody fleet.
The German manufacturer says the deal covers 14,000 seats of its CL3710 model which will be installed on Singapore Airlines’ Airbus A380s and its on-order A350s and Boeing 787s from next year.
Flightglobal’s Fleets Analyzer data shows Singapore Airlines operates 19 A380s and has orders for a further five of the double-deck type.
One A350 has been delivered, with another 66 scheduled to follow, comprising both baseline A350-900s and the larger -1000 variant.
The airline has orders for 30 787-10 twinjets. Not covered by deal are Singapore Airlines’ A330 and 777 fleets, which comprise 29 and 56 aircraft, respectively.
Recaro chief Mark Hiller says the contract is part of the manufacturer’s strategy to develop a “much stronger presence in Asia”.
