Iranian state media are reporting that an Iran Aseman Airlines aircraft has crashed in western-central region of the country.
The aircraft type has not been identified.
But the Iranian state news agency IRNA is citing the country's emergency and medical services as saying that some 60 occupants were on the flight.
It is said to have come down near Semirom, in Isfahan province, which lies some 450km to the south of the departure point of Tehran Mehrabad airport.
IRNA says the aircraft had taken off at 05:00 local time. It was reportedly bound for Yasouj, south of Semirom. The Dena mountain zone, with peaks rising to more than 4,000m, lies between the two locations.
No formal confirmation has been received from the carrier, the Iranian Civil Aviation Organisation, or the Iranian transport ministry.
Iran Aseman Airlines operates ATR 72 turboprops on the Tehran-Yasouj route, the only scheduled service between the cities, according to FlightGlobal's airline networks database.
It is among the carriers which have been individually blacklisted by the European Commission.
