RDT is demonstrating its Tempus IC "vital signs" monitoring device - designed for use by non-medical personnel such as pilots and cabin crew.
The UK company says Tempus IC is the only device to transmit a combination of clinical vital signs data routinely measured in an emergency room - such as blood pressure, EKG and pulse - along with voice and video to MedAire's 24/7 emergency land-based doctors.
"The parameters available are essentially the same as those one would have in most emergency rooms," says Dr Paulo Alves, MedAire's vice-president medical services.
RDT's customer list includes international airlines such as BMI, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic, as well as business jet owners.
Tilmann Gabriel, chief executive of Royal Jet, says: "The equipment fulfils our primary duty of care by enabling the very best in medical protection for our crew."
