New Caledonian carrier AirCalin today took delivery of the first of two on-order Airbus A330-900s at the airframer’s factory in Toulouse.
The second will be handed over later this year, and the twinjets will be used to replace AirCalin’s two A330-200s, notes Airbus.
Configured with 291 seats – 26 in business, 21 in premium economy and 244 in standard economy – the A330neos have 25 more seats than the A330-200s.
AirCalin’s aircraft have not previously had premium economy seats.

The A330neo is exclusively powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000s. AirCalin’s A330-200s are fitted with GE Aviation CF6-80E1 engines.
Cirium’s Fleets Analyzer shows that AirCalin has two Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-powered A320neos on order to replace a pair of A320s equipped with International Aero Engines V2500s.
