Qantas will launch seasonal services between Sydney and Osaka's Kansai International airport on 14 December.
The carrier will operate thrice-weekly on the route until 24 March 2018, using its upgraded two-class Airbus A330s.
The route provides connections onto Qantas' domestic and trans-Tasman networks, as well as onto Jetstar Japan's domestic network, says the carrier.
FlightGlobal schedules data shows that Qantas will be the only operator between Sydney and Osaka. Qantas also operates services from Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne to Tokyo.
