Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) Searcher II tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) now boasts a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) to help it detect targets at night and in bad weather.
A company spokesman says the Searcher II, produced by IAI's Malat Division, is the first tactical UAV to carry an operational SAR sensor to provide all-weather intelligence.
The EL/M-2055 SAR system produced by IAI¹s ELTA Electronic Industries can provide wide area coverage and the ability to detect moving targets.
