The Royal Air Force has test-flown a pod-mounted variant of the GEC-Marconi Ariel towed radar-decoy on a British Aerospace Nimrod MR2. The MR2 was operationally deployed with an "internally" carried towed-radar decoy during the 1991 Gulf War. The variant now being test flown is similar to that deployed on RAF Panavia Tornado F3s.
