No injuries have been reported after a Boeing 737 operated by Canadian carrier Westjet overran the runway after landing at Ottawa.
The aircraft touched down on runway 25 but “exited beyond the end”, says Westjet in a brief statement.
It had been operating flight WS846 from Westjet’s Calgary base. Weather data for the time of the incident, around 23:00 yesterday, shows only light rain in the vicinity. Temperatures were just above freezing and the aircraft came to rest on snow-covered ground.
