I am appalled by the attitude revealed in the Luxair crash report (Flight International, 16-22 December 2003). What can be private about the performance of flightcrew, whether good or bad? Those who are truly competent have nothing to fear. Pilots who make safety paramount will surely welcome the monitoring offered by these systems. The Airline Pilots Association of Luxembourg should recognise that both its members and their passengers will benefit from their implementation.
