Mozambique carrier LAM has confirmed the loss of all 27 passengers onboard the Embraer 190 aircraft which crashed en-route to Luanda.
In a statement the carrier confirms the crash of aircraft, which went missing late yesterday, on flight TM470 from Maputa to Luanda. The flight was carrying 27 passengers and six crew members.
The carrier says the accident was confirmed by the Namibian CAA, which identified the wreckage of the aircraft in a location in the north of the country. LAM says it has no information yet on the circumstances that caused the accident.
The aircraft has been confirmed as a 2012-built General Electric CF34-powered Embraer 190, serial number 581, which entered service with the carrier in November 2012. The aircraft, registered C9-EMC, is owned by aircraft lessor ALC.
Embraer says it is sending a team of technicians to the scene of the crash.
