Nordic Aviation Capital has entered into an agreement to acquire US-based regional jet lessor Jetscape Aviation Group.
NAC says in a statement that the seal will see it expand further into regional jet leasing with the addition of Jetscape’s portfolio of 28 owned Embraer E-Jets and commitments for a further 11. Jetscape also manages 18 Embraer jets on behalf of other owners.
No indication of the size of the deal, or when it will be finalised, has been disclosed by the two parties.
“This is a significant strategic development for NAC and we are pleased to diversify with the addition of an exceptional deal-focused, customer-centric organization with highly experienced management and dedicated staff,” says NAC chairman Martin Moller.
Jetscape chief executive John Evans welcomed the acquisition, saying: “We are delighted to bring Jetscape into NAC. Joining forces with them gives us an expanded geographical reach and most importantly, a firm financial platform to further develop regional aircraft leasing activity.”
Jetscape’s portfolio of owned aircraft comprise 16 E190s, nine E175s, one E170 and two E195s. Its clients include British Airways’ CityFlyer, Airnorth and Azul.
NAC’s portfolio of 253 aircraft is largely weighted towards ATR turboprops, although it also owns 19 Bombardier CRJ regional jets.
