Northwest Airlines has used Aeroxchange sourcing services since they were released last February. "We have reduced cycle times, signed agreements with world-class suppliers and literally saved millions of dollars," says Northwest senior vice-president of technical operations Andy Roberts. The latest version, Aeroxchange 2.0, will be a vital part of the airline's procurement process, he adds. "The ability to reliably find, buy, track and manage inventory and repair services offers great opportunities for us to continue to cut costs and better manage our assets," Roberts says. Northwest estimates that it has already saved "a considerable amount of money".
