UK business aviation services company Ocean Sky has acquired Manchester airport-based repair and interior refitting specialist Dean Aircraft Interiors.
London-based Ocean Sky began life as an aircraft broker in 2003, expanding into full aircraft services in 2005. It has fixed-base operations at Manchester and Glasgow Prestwick.
It has acquired aircraft interior refurbishment firm Dean Aircraft Interiors for an undisclosed sum. Dean Aircraft Interiors holds European Aviation Safety Agency Part 21 and Part 145 approvals and its customers include charter carries First Choice, Thomas Cook and MyTravel, as well as private jet owners.
Ocean Sky chief executive Kurosh Tehranchian says the acquisition is "a perfect fit" with rapidly expanding Ocean Sky, which is also planning to expand its maintenance network by acquiring fixed-base operations in central Europe.
Tehranchian adds: "So far, we've been able to maintain the engines and hull of aircraft. We will now be able to maintain inside the cabin, taking on repairs, restoration and fitting out to a very high standard. This gives us another capability in the private jet sector towards our goal, which is to offer a full completion service for aircraft. Dean Aircraft Interiors is an important piece of the jigsaw for us to have in place."
Alan Dean, who founded the company in 1989, says: "This is very good news for our future, allowing us to expand further into the sort of market that Ocean Sky represents, one where quality, care and attention to detail really matter."
