UK business aviation services provider Ocean Sky is expanding and upgrading its fixed-base operation at London Luton airport to take advantage of the expected hike in passenger numbers at the hub during the Olympic Games in July and August. On completion of the £10 million project in the third quarter, Ocean Sky says it will be able to handle three times as much business and cement its position as a major player in the business aviation market,
"We are forecasting a significant increase in turnover at Luton following the new FBO's opening," says Ocean Sky chief executive Steve Grimes. "With space for up to 30 aircraft at any one time, we will have the capacity in our first year to double our annual movements," he adds.
The new FBO will cater for all types of business aircraft, from helicopters to long-range business jets.

"Our diversified model covering ownership services, charter, sales and acquisition, interiors, engineering and handling protects us from fluctuations in the demand for private aviation travel. We are strongly committed to growth, which will see us expand our luxury offering to new locations in Europe and emerging territories," says Grimes.
The privately owned company already has bases Germany, Italy, Zurich and Moscow.
