Middle Eastern carrier Oman Air has signed for 20 additional Boeing 737s, according to the airframer’s latest backlog data.
The Muscat-based airline is already a 737 operator and has recently introduced the first of six 787-8s.
Boeing’s backlog data to 20 October shows the inclusion of 20 737s for Oman Air, as well as a reduction of six 737s in its overall net orders for this year.
The airframer has confirmed that the Omani jets are the re-engined Max version.
Oman Air had stated earlier this year that it had been negotiating for 10 737 Max jets as well as 10 current 737s.
