Middle East carrier Oman Air’s board is to examine the possible acquisition of widebody aircraft to fortify its operations, as ownership changes at partner Gulf Air increase the strategic importance of its Muscat base.Oman Air’s board is to consider the acquisition proposal, which would see up to three widebodies introduced as early as next year. The airline’s current fleet is based around the Boeing 737-700/800.
