The Omani air force is discussing a possible upgrade package for its fleet of 18 Sepecat Jaguar aircraft, including procuring a laser-designator capability for the aircraft. The air force is understood to be considering the purchase of around six laser-designator pods for its Jaguars. The GEC Marconi Thermal Imaging Airborne Laser Designator is understood to be the favourite, although the Thomson-CSF CLDP could also be offered.
