Orbimage has completed its $58.5 million acquisition of rival Space Imaging, creating GeoEye, the largest commercial satellite imagery company with combined 2005 revenues of $160 million. Dulles, Virginia-based GeoEye operates Orbview-2 and -3 and Ikonos satellites, producing imagery from 1m (3ft) to 4m in resolution and will launch a 0.41m-resolution satellite in 2007.
