The Show's spate of orders spread to the executive jet sector yesterday with the news that Cessna has sold 25 Citation Xs, the type's largest sale to date, plus 20 Citation VIIs.

All 45 are going to Executive Jet Aviation, the world's largest operator of business jets.

Ironically, the news came not from Cessna itself but from the engine manufacturers which will supply the powerplants for the aircraft.

Allison has its AE3007 on board the Citation X, and the order is further good news for the company.

It comes jut 24 hours after US carrier Continental Express ordered 25 AE3007-powered Embraer EMB-145s and took options on a further 175.

Allison will start delivering its powerplants to Cessna for this latest order before the end of the year.

AlliedSignal Aerospace, meanwhile, announced its contract from Cessna to supply its TFE731-4 engines for the Citation VIIs.

It will also provide its 36-150 auxiliary power units (APUs) and other equipment for the Cessnas.
