Aeromexico will begin commercial service with the Boeing 737 Max 8 in March 2018, FlightGlobal schedules show.
The SkyTeam Alliance carrier will debut the latest generation of the 737 family on flights between Mexico City and Cancun on 23 March 2018, schedules published over the weekend show. The date was first reported by the website Airlineroute.
Aeromexico declines to confirm 23 March as the entry-into-service date for the aircraft, which it will begin taking delivery of in the first quarter of 2018.
The airline will configure its 737-8s with 166 seats, an investor day presentation from September shows.
Aeromexico is scheduled to take delivery of five 737-8s in 2018, the majority of which will be financed with sale-and-leasebacks.
The carrier has firm orders for 60 737-8s and -9s, the Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.
