Air France will put its first Boeing 787 into service at the beginning of next year.
The carrier says the aircraft will be deployed on the Paris-Cairo route from 9 January 2017. It will be equipped with 30 business, 21 premium economy and 225 economy seats.
Ahead of serving the Egyptian capital with the Dreamliner, Air France will use the jet to operate four "welcome flights" around Paris on 7 and 8 January.
FlightGlobal schedules data indicates that Air France is currently operating 777 and Airbus A330 aircraft on the route from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Cairo. EgyptAir offers a rival service.
Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the Paris-based carrier has six 787s on order. Five are to be leased from AerCap.
