Air New Zealand has finalised its order for two additional Boeing 787-9s.
Boeing says in a statement that the order was booked late last year after the carrier announced in December that it would exercise two of its eight options for additional 787s.
The latest order will see the Star Alliance carrier’s 787-9 fleet eventually increase to 12 units, with the additional two aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2017 and 2018.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Fleets database shows that the carrier has three 787-9s in service. The type is being utilised on flights from Auckland to Perth, Sydney, Shanghai and Tokyo.
