China Aerospace Leasing signed a purchase agreement with Comac for 20 ARJ21-700s on the first day of Airshow China.
The lessor also inked to a letter of intent for 20 additional regional jets.
China Aerospace Leasing says that besides meeting the business needs of the company, the aircraft order also “shows its support” for the development of Chinese-made aircraft.
Comac meanwhile says that the two ARJ21s it has delivered to Chengdu Airlines thus far have achieved “good market performance”, and that it has also received positive feedback from passengers about the jet.
“The signing of the agreement proves that the ARJ21 is obtaining more and more recognition and trust from the market,” it adds.
The manufacturer says it will also continually listen to customers’ opinions and market feedback, as well as further optimise the aircraft.
With the order, the lessor becomes Comac’s 19th customer for the ARJ21, bringing total commitments for the regional jet to 413.
