Thailand’s agriculture ministry intends to order 10 Xian Aircraft MA60 turboprops, which will used them for cloud seeding missions.
A framework agreement between AVIC and the ministry was signed on 12 November at Airshow China in Zhuhai.
Details on the value of the deal and the delivery dates will be released once a full sale contract is finalised, AVIC says in a stock exchange statement.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Fleets database shows that 90 MA60s and enhanced MA600s have been produced, while there are orders for 82 other aircraft.
The MA60’s export sales have largely been to governments and airlines in developing regions, such as Asia, Africa and South America.
