Bombardier has delivered the first CS100 to launch operator Swiss in a ceremony at its Montreal manufacturing facilities.
The 125-seat aircraft will enter service between the Star Alliance carrier’s Zurich base and Paris Charles de Gaulle on 15 July.
“Swiss is proud to be the first airline to take title of the CSeries – the world’s newest, innovative and technologically advanced aircraft,” says Thomas Kluhr, chief executive of Swiss, in a statement.
Fred Cromer, president of Bombardier commercial aircraft, says: “Today is a significant moment for Bombardier, Swiss and their employees… I heartily congratulate our teams and thank our launch operator Swiss for its longstanding support of the programme.”
Swiss has firm orders for 14 more CS100s and 15 CS300s.
