Privately owned Chinese carrier Okay Airways has placed an order for six Boeing 737 Max 8s and four 737-800s.
The deal has a list-price value of $980 million.
Okay is also to convert five 737-800s from a previous order into 737-900ERs, and is set to become the first airline in China to operate the latter variant. It now has a total of eight -900ERs on order.
"The addition of the new 737 MAX airplanes will help us explore new regional markets while strengthening our existing domestic routes," says Okay president Liu Weining.
Headquartered in Beijing, Okay has its main base at Tianjin Binhai International airport. Its fleet includes 12 737-800s and one 737-300 Freighter, alongside Xian MA60 turboprops.
