Airbus has revealed that a 100-aircraft order for A320-family jets comprises a 40:60 mix of the current and re-engined versions.
The order, dated 2 December 2013, includes 60 A320neo-family aircraft including 39 for the basic A320neo plus 13 A321neos and eight A319neos.
Airbus says the balance of the order is made up of 26 current A320s plus seven each of the A319 and A321.
While the identity of the customer has not been revealed, Air China approved the acquisition of 100 A320s in May, of which 40 would be allocated to its subsidiary Shenzhen Airlines. Airbus's Chinese division stated last September that 60 of those aircraft would be A320neo-family jets.
The airframer's backlog notably lists the overall 100-aircraft order in two parts - for 60 and 40 aircraft - with the 40-aircraft part comprising 27 A320neos and 13 regular A320s.
Airbus disclosed the details during its annual results briefing in Toulouse.
Chief operating officer for customers John Leahy revealed that the manufacturer's December order haul included another 20 A320neos, also from an undisclosed customer.
Four A330-200s are undisclosed. Leahy indicates the customer will be identified in the next two months or so.
Airbus’s December figures included the 25 A330-300s ordered by AirAsia X, seven A321neo jets firmed by Turkish Airlines and three A350-1000s for Air Caraibes.
Troubled Indian carrier Kingfisher Airlines cancelled its five A380s and five A350-800s, although a number of narrowbodies are being left on the books while the airline attempts to revive itself.
United Airlines has cancelled a batch of 12 A320-family aircraft, dating back to 2001, including six A319s and six A320s.
