AerCap has placed an order for 100 Boeing 737 Max 8s, joining the customer list for the manufacturer's re-engined narrowbody family.
"This order complements our existing orderbook in the single-aisle category and is in line with our customer needs and our fleet strategy of leasing the most-in-demand and technologically advanced equipment," says AerCap chief executive Aengus Kelly.
Flightglobal's Ascend Fleets database lists 1,268 aircraft, including 384 737s, in the lessor's portfolio.
Before the disclosure of the Max deal at the Paris air show this morning, AerCap already had 332 aircraft on order. These include 200 Airbus A320neo-family narrowbodies and 12 737-800s.
