Fiji Airways has commenced the rebranding of its regional unit Pacific Sun to Fiji Link with the delivery of its first ATR 72-600.
“As we announced last November, the new brand for Pacific Sun will be an extension of the Fiji Airways brand,” says Fiji Airways managing director Stefan Pichler. “The Fiji Link aircraft has a distinct, yet part-of-the-family look with the Fiji Airways fleet, and therefore retains prominent brand elements in its livery and design.”
The new-build aircraft, which is being leased from Avation, will allow Fiji Link to add more frequencies to its domestic and South Pacific network. It will also introduce a business class product on international routes, the airline says.
Fiji Link is also planning to add a second ATR 72 and an ATR 42-600 to its fleet, allowing for the retirement of its two ATR 42-500s.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Online Fleets database shows that the carrier also operates three de Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otters.
