VietJet Air has ordered 50 more Airbus A321neos, firming a memorandum of understanding signed at the Farnborough air show in July.
Airbus says the order brings to 120 the number of A321neos that VietJet has on order. The Vietnamese low-cost carrier, which also has five A321ceos on order, has already taken delivery of 46 A320-family aircraft.
Its chief executive Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao states that the A321neo will "help us to expand the network significantly, especially on international routes".
The follow-on deal's signing in Hanoi on 2 November – by the airline's leader and Airbus chief commercial officer Christian Scherer – coincided with an official visit to the country by French prime minister Edouard Philippe, who was in attendance along with Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
