Indian-Singaporean joint venture carrier Vistara took delivery of its first A321neo on 23 July.
“This new addition to our fleet reinforces our long-term commitment to international expansion plans, despite the challenges of the current times,” says Leslie Thng, Vistara’s chief executive.
The aircraft (MSN 9297) is on operating lease from Air Lease, according to Cirium fleets data. At the 2018 Farnborough Air Show, Vistara committed to further growing its A320neo family fleet, with a commitment to lease an additional 37 aircraft from lessors.
Those leased aircraft, along with a letter of intent for 13 A320neos from Airbus, will add 50 A320neo family aircraft to the airline’s fleet.
The three-class, 188-seat aircraft that was delivered yesterday is powered by CFM Leap-1A engines.

In March 2020, Vistara inducted its first widebody aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, for long-haul international operations.
Vistara is a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, with Tata Sons holding the majority stake of 51% in the company and SIA holding the remaining 49%.
