Canadian piston engine maker Orenda Recip expects US Federal Aviation Administration certification of its re-engined OE600-powered Air Tractor 401 agricultural aircraft this month. The conversion is being offered for $150,000 and will be followed by a similar option for the Air Tractor 301, on which certification work is about to begin. The company is also planning the conversion of an OE600-powered de Havilland Beaver, and a potential re-engining programme for the Ayres Thrush agricultural aircraft.
