Anywhere Map has launched a new navigation device with a special discount to AirVenture visitors.

According to president Jay Humbard,  the Anywhere Map Travel Companion (ATC) is the most powerful handheld device built by HP and as a dedicated navigation appliance pre-loaded with Anywhere Map software, there is no software to install and is completely self-contained.

“If you can operate the on-off button, you can be up and running with the ATC in just a few minutes,” says Humbard. “It’s an integrated street map with aeronautical maps and plates – meaning you can walk around with it in your shirt pocket, use it when driving and then fit it to the flight-deck of your plane. Because it’s made by HP and we modify the unit for aviation use, it’s much less expensive than a Garmin 495.”

Humbard says the device includes safety features included its ‘Cones of Safety’ program, an emergency mode, personal digital co-pilot and obstacle and terrain warnings. “Our ‘Nearest Anything’ function shows pilots everything from nearby airports to AWOS frequencies and even the FBO with the cheapest fuel,” enthuses Humbard.

The system comes with both a car mount and a yoke mount. Visitors who purchase the unit at the show can save $200 off the basic unit’s price of $895.
