SMA chief executive Luc Pelon updated the media as the French manufacturer pushes toward a year-end certification of its diesel fuel sipping 305-230E. The engine, a new derivative of the less powerful 305-230, has completed 250 hours of flight testing since first flying last September. Pelon is mum on the future applications for the engine though he hints that the engine has been selected by multiple OEMs. He says announcements will come following certification of the engine around November.
