A Lockheed Martin Vought Systems Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile was successfully test-fired from White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, on 15 December. The US Army says that preliminary test data indicate that mission objectives were met, including missile integration with the launcher and radar and missile performance. This was the second of two scheduled PAC-3 developmental flight tests. It will be followed by 16 intercept tests against a mix of targets. The next PAC-3 test, in February, will attempt to knock down a ballistic missile target.
