AIR MARSHALL ISLANDS' FIRST Saab 2000 arrived in Majuro, the island nation's capital, late in June. The delivery was the first in the Pacific region, although Australian carrier Kendell Airlines has two options which could be converted to firm orders later this year. The Saab 2000 will replace Hawker-Siddeley 748s on the airline's main route from Majuro to Tarawa, Funafuti, Nadi and Suva. The Marshall Islands Department of Civil Aviation has approved 75-min extended-range twinjet operations. A second aircraft is due for delivery to the carrier later this year.
