Pakistan International Airlines has pledged to pull itself out of losses over the next year through a mix of spending cuts and expansion. A new service to Chicago is pending, and there are plans to serve five other US cities, as well as possible destinations in Australia, South Africa and South Korea. The airline also aims to trim its heavy management overheads and tighten up costs in a bid to turn around losses.
