First officer Maliha Sami of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has become the first woman pilot in the company to fly an Airbus A310. Sami was also the first woman pilot to fly the Airbus A300 as co-pilot, and was the first woman pilot to join PIA in 1990. Before that she spent six years with Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority flying the Beech Super King twin engine aircraft, again the first woman to do so.
