Philippine Airlines (PAL) chairman Lucia Tan has loaned the flag carrier $152 million, to help it meet an overdue $200 million predelivery payment to Airbus Industrie for new A320/330/ 340s. The loan will be converted to equity as soon as Tan is given approval to raise his stake in PAL, from 33% to a controlling 57%.
