Palau-based airline PacificFlier has suspended operations, five months after it began operations.

Industry sources close to the carrier say the flights have been suspended for "weeks".

A PacificFlier spokesman says operations were suspended for "a change of aircraft" but declines to elaborate, adding that an official statement will be released later today.

The airline commenced operations in March with Airbus A310 aircraft after some delays. It operated flights between Palau and Guam, Gold Coast and Manila's Clark Airport.
