On the opening day, the NBAA welcomed legendary golfer Arnold Palmer willing Cessna Citation owners to “Catch the Spirit”.

The Cessna campaign asks Citation owners and operators to lend their time, aircraft, fuel and crew to transporting athletes from across the country to the 2006 Special Olympics USA National Games in Iowa.

“It’s a thrill flying my Citation X and I urge every other [Citation] owner to give a Special athlete the same experience,” Palmer said.

The airlift, which will take place on 1 July and 8 July, will be the largest to date, with 400 aircraft transporting more than 2,500 Special Olympic athletes and coaches.
