Continuing its rapid expansion, Pan Am International Flight Academy (PAIFA) is to acquire training company SimCom International.
SimCom, which operates simulator centres in Orlando and Vero Beach, Florida, and Scottsdale, Arizona, will become a wholly owned subsidiary of privately owned PAIFA.
Miami-based PAIFA, which is building new simulator centres in Cincinatti, Ohio; Memphis, Tennessee; and Dulles, Virginia, will specialise in providing training for commercial and regional carriers. SimCom, which provides training on piston- and turboprop-powered general aviation aircraft, will take over PAIFA's business jet training and simulators.
PAIFA president Pedro Sors says that the SimCom acquisition "-enhances our ability to aggressively grow our business and within all sectors". Late last year, SimCom acquired Piper training specialist Attitudes International.
PAIFA, meanwhile, has expanded its boundaries and is establishing simulator centres for Atlantic Coast Airlines, DHL Airways and FedEx.
