Pratt & Whitney Canada is to spend an additional C$250 million ($200 million) on research and development in the Montreal area over the next three years, after receiving C$75 million in reimbursable support from the Quebec government. The engine manufacturer has previously received more than C$600 million in repayable investment from the federal government's Technology Partnerships Canada programme, for R&D programmes totalling C$3 billion since 1996.
