Pratt & Whitney is today celebrating the grand opening of Global Services Engineering - Asia (GSE-Asia) in Singapore. The company - based in a state-of-the-art facility at Loyang Drive, near to Changi airport - will provide new product design and development to P&W’s global service partners businesses in Asia Pacific.

According to Carl Soderberg, general manager, GSE-Asia: “This opening is in line with the growth of the aerospace industry in Asia-Pacific. We have seen a significant expansion of engineering service requirements from global and regional customers and are now better positioned to join in this growth, leveraging Singapore’s position as the region’s aerospace and logistics hub.”

GSE-Asia will carry out repairs on engines built by CFMI, International Aero Engines, P&W and Rolls-Royce, including part repair design and support.

With the opening of its new business, P&W now has eight global service partners operations in Singapore, employing more than 2,000 people.
